About Zoe C.
Working on Gadigal and Wangal Land, Sovereignty Never Ceded. Always was, Always will be, Aboriginal Land.I am passionate about inclusivity and believe this extends to Indigenous People, People of Colour, Sex Workers, LGBTIQ+ Community (especially POC and Trans), Survivors of police violence and people who require access, advocacy and direct action to participate in an ableist and unforgiving society.I’m an experienced Social Worker with a demonstrated history of working in community not for profit organisations. I am practical, action focused and goal oriented. I pride myself on accountability, safe practices and inclusive actions + words.I am doing my best to decolonise my actions and speech - in the same essence, I prefer not to use binary language to talk about work.I am skilled in Administration, Management, Healthcare, Case Management, Aged Care, Disability Work and Volunteer Management. I have a combined Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Arts from UNSW. I identify as non-binary and use they/them/theirs pronouns.I speak Cantonese fluently and love collaborating with Interpreters. I have some conversational Mandarin under my belt - it's a work in progress! Opportunities for Cantonese language practice are open, especially if you like talking about music, art, film or food :)Over the course of my career, I have freelanced in different fields and have growing and practiced experience with communications, planning, outcomes evaluation, copywriting, negotiation, website design and policy work, particularly in the private small business and not-for-profit space or with leadership teams seeking to re-invent and re-shape their diversity and inclusion policy.Happy to connect with you to discuss anything written here :)

Community Projects Officer
During the duration of my contract as Community Projects Officer at City of Canada Bay Council, my day to day tasks included project planning, stakeholder coordination and event planning for all the Community Development led projects as part of the Community Services team. This role involved ongoing engagement with internal and external stakeholders, using an internal CRM, liaising with residents with regards to homelessness, managing expectations of stakeholders/community and data evaluation + collection. My management of firm deadlines, ability to communicate with a variety of audiences and my focus on accountability has meant that I have been able to deliver projects collaboratively, working well with internal and external stakeholders. I have planned, procured and managed the following in the past year and recent months:Seniors Week 2023 - coordinating two weeks of Community Development events, printing and editing a seniors directory, a concert, community transport trip and community eventSeniors Directory - Editing a 40 page resource for seniors, liaising with local groups and external stakeholders to maintain up to date information for printInternational Women’s Day 2023Youth Week 2023World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2023 - Collaborative event with Inner West Council and other collaborative stakeholdersBystander Training with Full Stop AustraliaPRISM LGBTIQA+ TrainingSocial Connections Groups - 8 week partnership with Sydney Local Health DistrictMental Health Month 2022 - organising a talk for community membersInternational Day of People with a Disability 2022 - supportingWalk against Domestic Violence - Partnership with Inner West Council 2022
Network Coordinator
Community Development Officer
Program Manager
My first job out of University - I worked here for 4 and a half years. I started by managing a venue calendar and organising weekly trips for older people in the former Leichhardt Local Government Area. This soon progressed to also coordinating social groups for adults with a disability and managing CHSP funded programs for older people in the inner west. The challenges of this role meant that no day was the same. I found the ability to work creatively, positively and with a focus on solutions and strength. Over the years, my group work skills evolved and felt more organic. I learnt to prioritise many different responsibilities, which included compliance, respite coordination, staffing ratios and managing conflict (just to name a few!) .It was here that I found and honed my skills for recruiting and empowering volunteers, which is easily one of my favourite skills. I have a passion for supporting independence and effective, sustainable support worker engagement. There is nothing I love more than seeing people grow and find happiness in what they are doing in the workplace and beyond!
Volunteer
I volunteered and assisted with meal serving, cleaning and food preparation for a few months after I had first volunteered here during the Christmas Lunch. I hope to head back here and help out soon.
Casual Sales Assistant
I worked here for a long time while I studied for my Bachelor's degree. People tend to overlook retail, but I will never forget the conflict resolution skills, time management and good team building I learnt here over the years.
