There is a strong emphasis on collaboration with the Centre of Expertise (CoE) to ensure initiatives meet business demands. The position requires delivering timely and innovative HR solutions to address business challenges, analysing HR data for trend identification, and developing diversity initiatives in collaboration with the broader HR team.

This role involved taking the lead in joint initiatives with business managers and employees to cultivate a positive work environment. The responsibilities included providing HR leadership and guidance for addressing employee relations matters, driving various HR processes such as staffing, change management, organisational design, compensation planning, performance management, and employee development. The position involved offering guidance and support to employees dealing with work-related issues, resolving issues proactively and empathetically. Additionally, the role collaborated with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team to develop recruitment strategies, ensuring diverse candidate pools and high-quality selections. As an impartial sparring partner to the business, I offered well-structured HR advice to solve business problems. As the leader of an HR team providing advisory, payroll, and administrative support, while also building excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels, both in the UK and internationally.

In this role I was an advisor to the Board of Trustees, reporting at the quarterly Trustees meetings and accountable to the Chairman, as well as being the independent advisor to all levels from the Board of Directors to Laboratory Technicians and Field Agents. I was responsible for all operational HR within the business including complex casework, advice and guidance, training and development and talent acquisition. HR budget ownership including staffing and benefits for the group was also under my remit as well as management of a small team of HR & payroll professionals.HRIT systems used included Advanced & ADP.

I was responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to the Charity and its two subsidiary commercial companies, reviewing and maintaining company policies and employment contracts in line with employment law and business requirements, reporting to the management team on a monthly basis on HR-related KPIs and statistics and line management of an HR & Payroll Officer.

Management of all elements of the full employee lifecycle with a particular focus on succession planning and talent development, presenting all KPIs and topics at monthly board meetings.HRIT system in use was Oracle.
