A player/coach role as one of the first hires. We made people analytics products to help companies build the workforce of the future. I led the technology and built the team. Launched three B2B products and two B2C products, scaling to millions of users across the globe. I’d help get stuck in to ship features and fix issues, as well looking after the team and the technical strategy.

Working alongside account managers, maintained client relationships with clients at FTSE 100 companies and global conglomerates. Recruited new team members and mentored the development team. Created a UX team, hiring a lead UX designer and help hire the team, bringing new revenue to the business, and helping deliver better quality projects.

Designed and managed technical solutions for client projects, working closely with the clients and internal teams, and managing my own team. Implemented the change from flat web design to a mobile-first world with responsive design and app delivery. Started the change to a DevOps structure for managing our projects, introducing CI/CD.

Senior Manager, Platforms and Apps – Worked on a wide range of projects in industries such as FMCG and ecommerce, on backend systems. Introduced and trained the team on using version control software and managing deployment systems.

Led the development of web projects for our clients, and steered the development team direction, and hired team members. Mostly working in ecommerce, oversaw the start of the migration from custom builds to Shopify and other SaaS products as the market changed.

Built Union+, a platform for students’ unions. One of the first SaaS products for unions, we managed club and society membership, printing ID cards, secure voting for elections, and day-to-day communication for unions across the UK. The product was sold to and integrated with the National Union of Students digital offerings.
