With this experience and against a family background of property development Zoey understands fully the detrimental effect that disputes have on both people and businesses as well as the importance of bringing matters to a sensible conclusion at the earliest opportunity.Her skills and abilities were recognised when she was appointed, first to the Faculty of the London School of Mediation, and later to The Society of Mediators where she plays in integral role in promoting mediation and developing the Free Mediation Project. Zoey joined Normanton Chambers as a tenant following successful completion of her pupillage under Jonathan Dingle. Zoey undertook this role within Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service as a specialist Family Court Justice of the Peace as an unpaid volunteer. Having spent over 10 years hearing cases in both the Criminal (Adult) Court and the Family Proceedings Court, Zoey made the decision to specialise only in cases concerning children and was appointed to the role of Chair.She was involved in hearing both Public and Private Law applications, making Judicial decisions based on the evidence presented and applying the welfare checklist and other relevant guidelines in order to reach a decision. Zoey is passionate about the importance of providing for a fair, efficient and effective justice system delivered by an independent judiciary. With a particular affinity for the work done by the Family Court, she is a staunch advocate of child welfare and has always been keen to assist parents in building the best outcome for their children.

Zoey was the First Honorary Secretary and a trustee for The Society of Mediators: a charity which exists to promote for the public benefit the provision of services directed towards mediation in conflict management, and to advance for the public benefit education of the public in the purposes and methods of mediation. Zoey joined the Faculty of The London School of Mediation in March 2013 as a Course Tutor and quickly assumed the additional role of Operations Manager. This included the ongoing development of course materials and course content as well as the organisation of future courses and CPD days.
