In the Land Signatures Modelling and Simulation project for Defence Science and Technology Group, I conducted applied research in the area of infrared signature measurement and modelling to:1. Design and validate spectral and radiometric measurement methodologies for efficient and reliable characterisation of materials for EO/IR signature modelling.2. Develop a spectral and bidirectional reflectance library of materials (i.e. cam-net, military fabrics, etc.) and terrain elements (e.g. tree, foliage, grass, etc.) to support the soldier signature modelling and simulation capability.3. Apply generative AI for multispectral image fusion for enhanced situational awareness.4. Conduct and report on signature validation field trial in a representative environment to allow detectability assessments.5. Develop software for detectability assessments from images of simulated soldiers in a real background environment against specific threat sensors.

In the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Wheat in a Hot and Dry Climate, I conducted applied research in the area of remote sensing and plant/crop phenomics to:1. Design and deliver image processing and mapping tools for the analysis of grain crops using an aerial imaging platform.2. Develop multispectral image analysis and machine learning algorithms and produced software to quantify plant growth and crop yields, in collaboration with stakeholders of the agriculture industry.3. Report on methods and outcomes in collaboration with team members, through participation in seminar programs, conference presentations, and preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed journals.

In the ARC Discovery Project on the Comparative Physiology of Oxygen Delivery to the Kidney, I conducted applied research in the area of biomedical image analysis to:1. Develop software to analyse physical attributes of blood vessels using micro-CT images captured in the imaging and medical beamline at the Australian Synchrotron.2. Quantify the 3D structure of vasculature (i.e. length, thickness, surface area, curvature, proximity and hierarchical order) in mammals for study of renal physiology.3. Work in collaboration with stakeholders to advance the understanding of renal function in hyperoxic and hypoxic states.
