As the Public Grant Writer and Contracts Coordinator at the International Institute of New England, my work to secure critical funding supports the incredible staff and clients at IINE's three sites - Boston, Lowell, and Manchester (NH). The IINE supports and helps create pathways to success for immigrants and refugees in New England via an array of services, including resettlement, education, career advancement and pathways to citizenship.I gained invaluable knowledge and experience for my current role in my previous job as the director of Immigration Legal Services and Assistance at the University YMCA New American Welcome Center. There, I had the privilege of working with immigrants from all over the world who come to Champaign County to work, study, and raise families. I was accredited by the Department of Justice to provide direct immigration legal services and with my dynamic team, we coordinated access to legal services, secured funds via grant writing, and managed and developed various program as well as recruit, manage, and develop student interns and volunteers.
