School in a Bag is a simple solution created to help poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster-affected children throughout the world. Each SchoolBag is filled with stationery, learning resources and eating utensils that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and above all learn. An education for these children could be their passport to a life out of hardship and poverty.

School in a Bag's biggest annual fundraiser, Home Farm Fest is a 3-day music festival held on the farm where the charity is based. With over 150 performance acts on nine stages, plus a children's area, market area, wellness area, bars (we run all these ourselves),traders plus all the marketing, ticketing, social media and volunteers, there's a lot to manage!Despite having had to cancel the festival for the two covid years, Home Farm Fest has raised over half a million pounds for School in a Bag (all the profits made go straight back into the charity). It's grown from a half-day event with three bands to what it is now, and it continues to grow - 2024 was the first sellout year proving that despite a decline in the event industry, if pitched right, they can still be very successful.The last band to have performed in 2019 were local rock legends, Reef. Since then, we've had bands from as far as the USA perform and all over the UK. Since being a part of the organising team of HFF, it's gone from raising £46,000 to 2023 raising over £108,000. One of Bristol's biggest attractions, At-Bristol (now We the curious) is a leading science centre full of hands-on exhibits and a Planetarium. My role was to promote the Centre to the outside world, deal with journalists and media enquiries, working on external promotions, running the PR side of marketing campaigns throughout the year, helping with the opening of new exhibitions and external ones too like the In the Zone, which was designed for London 2012, the social media for the Centre and lots more besides including working with Wallace & Gromit, being part of a world record for the longest string of popcorn(!) and hosting Sir David Attenborough and other celebrities.An amazing place to be a part of - learned a lot, did a lot and had a lot of fun in the process.

Formerly the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, Penny Brohn Cancer Care is the UK's leading complementary cancer care charity. My first role was as the PA to the CEO and Directors as the charity was going through a big premises move and rebrand. It was a challenging, but exciting time to be at the forefront of what was going on and meant having to be super-efficient and organised and dealing with a lot of confidential information.I then became the PR Manager, leading my team as the Centre grew to keep the charity in the media spotlight both in the health sector and with fundraising initiatives. During this time, our Patron, Prince Charles, officially opened the new Centre - an event I played a lead part in.

Helped run the annual Kona 24 hour mountain bike event just outside Melbourne and then worked at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne - Athlete Services Supervisor for the Mountainbiking and Marshall Sector Leader for the Cycling Road Race

A large recreation centre in a multi-cultural environment. I ran a swim school with over 500 people, from babies to adults, learning to swim each week as well as developing the sport usage in the centre and running the holiday camps for children aged 5-15. Using my PR and promotional skills, I was able to get the Centre to full capacity every week for the swim school, build on the adults swimming and have an increased amount of children attending the holiday camps. I initiated on-site promotions, gained media exposure, ran off-site activities and helped instigate the set-up of a tennis academy.

One of the UK's leading swim schools with a rapid growth expansion, I was assigned their first PR Manager as well as a part-time swim teacher. The role was challenging as when I started, outside London, it was an unknown brand and the company was opening a new branch in Edinburgh. This was a main focus and I was successful in getting media in Scotland to support the company and promote its opening.

A travel PR company with many clients including: The Antigua and Barbuda Tourist Office, the Portuguese Tourist Office, Qatar Airways and the Monaco Tourist Office. My job was to write and release press releases for national and international press, deal with journalists, assist with setting up for press tours and general office admin.

A luxury fragrance and skincare company. This was my first job post graduating and a huge learning curve to be a part of a three-woman team dealing with global journalists and PR teams. From events at Vogue House, helping Jo and her husband organise a US tour for the opening of their new stores Stateside to helping design the shop window displays for the flagship store in Sloane Street. My learning curve was very steep having just graduated, as well as my experiences working for a very high-end retailer in a fast-paced environment. I loved it.
