I am the founder of chest wall surgery. I put forward the concept of chest wall surgery in 2008 and established the first independent chest wall surgery department in the world in 2018. I have been performing various chest wall surgeries for over 15 years. By September 2024, my total number of chest wall surgeries have exceeded 10,000. These included 48 surgeries for asphyxiating thoracic dysplasia, more than 100 surgeries for barrel chest, and more than 300 surgeries for surgical failed chest wall deformities. I have been invited to more than 400 hospitals to perform chest wall deformity surgeries. My center is the largest chest wall deformity correction center in the world, and I am the director of this center.I have invented many new surgical treatment for PE, PC and compound chest wall deformity, such as Wang procedure, Wung procedure and Wenlin procedure. Years of practical experiences have shown that these procedures are considerable safe and effective. More importantly, compared with the traditional procedures, they are less invasive, which are beneficial to the patients' postoperative recovery.I published the world's first monograph on chest wall surgery, Chest Wall Surgery, and another extremely important reference work, The Minimalist Rules of Chest Wall Surgery. I constructed the theoretical system of chest wall surgery.Additionally, I founded the International Chest Wall Surgery Organization (ICWSO),and I am the chairman of this organization.
