1000 Hearts

1000 Hearts is a global kindness community that started in 2016 from a random act of kindness. It's a social enterprise dedicated to sharing the benefits of self-compassion, kindness and community through the sharing and/or hand-stitching of eco-friendly pocket hearts. Our hearts are our language of kindness, a tangible symbol to hold onto in difficult times. Founded in Tasmania by Sarah De Jonge, and underpinned by a strong evidence base, 1000 Hearts is a powerful example of kindness in action. Research consistently shows that being kind to ourselves and others makes us happier and healthier. Similarly, hand-stitching is a mindful activity that creates community and connects us to previous generations of makers and menders. Our mission is to share the benefits of kindness far and wide. We do this by sharing our hearts, even if they're a little wonky or imperfect. A heart full of love is the best kind of heart.
