ABLOCK Project

ABLOCK project addresses the paradox of increasing food production to improve food security while a third of food is wasted, harming both the economy and the environment. The project aims to reduce waste at through the food chain by valorizing food waste and developing high-performance antimicrobial polymer films. These films will combine advanced technologies for effective antimicrobial integration, controlled release, and enhanced functionality through nanostructured surfaces. A-BLOCK project is a multidisciplinary research and innovation project tackling food waste and food security through advanced antimicrobial food packaging technologies. It is supported by national funding agencies and carried out by a diverse consortium of academic and industrial partners across Europe.
