Meditation is a way to know our own mind. The object of Buddhism meditation is training the mind so that we may develop certain qualities, like love, compassion, equanimity, forgiveness, appreciation, and kindness. In every moment of every day we're making decisions and several of them, if not most, are made unconsciously. As we practice meditation we begin create space between our thoughts, and with that space there grows a consciousness which allows us an opportunity to feel the body. That is a process that can help deepen our consciousness by drawing on our subconscious and our intuition. Perhaps probably the most crucial advantages of meditation, achieved throughout the cultivation of lovingkindness, forgiveness and compassion, is an expanded feeling of trust and friendship t all beings.
