Access Bangladesh Foundation

Access Bangladesh Foundation has been working for the empowerment of persons with disabilities since its establishment in 2008. The organization works with a vision to build an inclusive society where persons with disabilities and marginalized people can participate equally as well as with a mission to promote equity for persons with disabilities and other marginalized people in all spheres of life through education, training, employment, arts and culture, sports, legal services, health care, climate change and information and communication technology. The organization works in two approaches- rights-based and direct service provision in line with community-led inclusive development. The core focused areas are- inclusive education, inclusive health, inclusive livelihoods, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, access to justice and research and policy advocacy. The organization worked as a partner with 25 different agencies including UN and Donor agencies, INGOs and NGOs, Humanitarian organizations, and the Government of Bangladesh to promote an inclusive ecosystem in Bangladesh. Besides, the organization has been working closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and mainstream NGOs, CSOs and disability-oriented organizations through a partnership approach.
