Adventus IT Services LLC is committed to helping other small and medium sized businesses with basic information technology needs at an affordable price. The company was registered with the Secretary of State for South Carolina on January 3, 2003. The owner and principal consultant, Tom Brewer, is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and as a Certified Computer Professional (CCP). He has over 30 years of experience in information technology as a full-time instructor in computer data processing at Midlands Technical College, a senior technical consultant with NCR Corporation, and a project manager and IT manager at the University of South Carolina. He is currently an adjunct faculty member in the Corporate and Continuing Education department at Midlands Technical College where he specializes in instruction in project management. He was awarded Adjunct Instructor of the Year for the Corporate and Continuing Education department in 2010. Having served on international standards committees for information technology and as a past board member for the PMI South Carolina Midlands Chapter, Tom is committed to bringing standards and best practices to bear in small and medium sized businesses consistent with the level of maturity of the company or organization. Observing numerous failed projects, large and small, and expensive IT implementations that were not appropriate to the needs of the organizations, Tom has collected many lessons learned that he will use to help your company or organization avoid repeating these mistakes. As a practitioner of business analysis, strategic planning, requirements engineering, and business-IT alignment, Tom will help you to put the right strategy in place to ensure that IT helps you to achieve your business goals and objectives without being held hostage to information technology, whether financially or due to rigid processes imposed by computers and software applications.
