Supported by the European Commission and SESAR Joint Undertaking, AEROPLANE project aims at investigating new ways in reducing aviation impact on climate, as well as find new solutions to make aviation more resilient to the more frequent and extreme weather conditions in Europe, such as high temperatures and heat waves.
AEROPLANE wants to create proof-of-concept (PoC) climate services for aviation stakeholders to foster the transition towards a net-zero and resilient aviation sector. Using knowledge on climate, AEROPLANE will provide insightful metrics and data to enable ATM decision-making, such as flight planning, that is climate-savvy and takes into consideration weather and climate conditions.
