About Aerospace-X

The project Aerospace-X aims at building a sustainable and digital ecosystem for the Aerospace industry. The objectives of the consortium are building the digital ecosystem for the aerospace industry in Germany and internationally, ensuring digital continuity and common standards between aerospace product manufacturers, OEMs and the (multi-tier) supply chain and enabling a new form of collaborative, data-based value creation. Aerospace-X is embedded in the Manufacturing-X initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate (BMWK). With Manufacturing-X and the platform Industry 4.0, business, politics and science have launched a joint initiative: To realize Industry 4.0 data space and the transformation to a digitally connected industry across all branches. Companies shall be able to confidently and share data across the entire manufacturing and supply chain. The consortium of Aerospace-X is composed as follows: Airbus Operations represents the OEM view and leads the consortium. Further industrial players from the Aeronautical industry are Diehl Aviation, Präwest, Synergeticon, Gemineers, Advanced Material Concepts, Toolcraft and ZAL. As technology partners SAP, T-Systems, SupplyOn and CapGemini have joined the project. Finally, the DLR and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft complete the consortium as research partners. Furthermore, 16 associate partners from the aeronautical industry from Germany and Europe will contribute to the project. The project is scheduled from April 2024 to June 2026 and funded under the ID 13MX004A under the Manufacturing-X funding scheme of the BMWK.
