The statistics are overwhelming: more than 130 people a day die from opioid related drug overdoses. In 2020 in the US alone, 2.7 million people aged 12 or older had Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and 4.2 million people entered a drug rehabilitation program.

Animal models indicate that ATX-001 may prevent opioid dependence while not blocking pain relief or causing withdrawal & other adverse effects.
