The Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC) were established in 1998 to promote footwear manufacturing and export in Agra. Our main objective is to adopt modern technology and highest quality standards to compete in global markets.
Key highlights of AFMEC's journey:
- Organizing "Meet at Agra," a yearly exhibition-cum-fair, since 2007, showcasing latest technology and products
- Creating a state-of-the-art exhibition-cum-convention centre, "Agra Trade Centre," on the Gata No. 199, Village Singhna, NH-19, Agra-Mathura highway, Agra -282007
- Representing over 100 leading footwear manufacturer-exporters, with exports worth ₹4,000 crores, aiming to reach ₹10,000 crores in the near future
- Collaborating with Council for Leather Export (CLE), Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA), Fraternity of Agra Footwear Manufacturers (FAFM), Agra Shoe Manufacturers Association (ASMA), Leather Skill Sector Council (LSSC), etc. and government departments to serve the footwear industry
- Working with MSME Development Institutes to impart business and technical knowledge to entrepreneurs
Agra is a significant footwear cluster in India, with around 10,000 micro-size units, 150 small-scale units, 30 medium-scale units, and 15 large-scale units. The government has recognized Agra's potential and released a special package for the Indian Footwear, Leather & Accessories Development Programme. AFMEC works as a collective force, organizing seminars and meetings to spread awareness about opportunities and support its members.
