AFRICA JUST TRANSITION NETWORK FKA AFRICA COAL NETWORK

The Africa Coal Network (ACN) was established in 2018 and is well recognised in the region and beyond for its work. The network is made up of 88 organisations including CSOs, NGOs and CBOs across 25 African countries. ACN strengthens and supports various national and grassroots coal resistance struggles, bringing them together through various platforms. The Network strives to grow the demand for the phase-out of coal and other forms of dirty energy for a just transition across Africa. The Network also calls for a Just Transition to a regenerative economy, and a society based on social and gender justice with clean air, water and renewable energy that is accessible to all. Africa Coal Network is a dedicated advocate for environmental justice and sustainable development.
