About Ahliah School

Ahliah School was established as independent, not-for-profit school, by recommendation of its advisory committee consisting of the President of AUB, Buyarsd Dodge, Bulous Khauli, Professor and founding Chair of the Department of Education and Anis Makdisi, Chair of the Arabic Department at AUB, with a self-sustainable Board of Trustees. Ahliah strives to bring together people from all walks of life and provide them with an environment to grow, enjoy studying and excel by doing all sorts of things together in harmony, that they may not only accept the other, but acquire empathy, work happily and productively with all and extend their humanity and human networks, locally, regionally and globally. Ahliah School has a distinguished 100-year history, with deep roots in academic performance, philanthropy and community involvement. In the last decade, Ahliah achieved a major transformation in its education programs and facility to meet the demands of the 21st century. The standards achieved brought about a modern well-equipped safe school with a pleasant learning environment and a 100% success rate in the Baccalaureate exams with a high proportion of honors. Student placement at top Universities in Lebanon and abroad is excellent. Ahliah's achievements and successes earned it dual accreditation from the top education bodies in the USA and Europe respectively: The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS), Ahliah is one of few schools in Lebanon with such dual recognition. Ahliah School develops young minds to their best abilities, while nurturing self-confidence, respect, compassion, creativity, a joy for learning and working collaboratively within a diverse environment. Ahliah graduates are primed to take responsibility for their future and to be active citizens engaged in local, regional, and global issues.
