The Australasian Human Research Ethics Consultancy Services Pty Ltd originally started in 2008 as a business partnership between Prof. Colin Thomson, Dr Gary Allen, Prof. Mark Israel and Assoc Prof. Martin Tolich. In 2017 AHRECS became a registered company in Australia.
Our work relates to human research ethics and research integrity.

We:
• evaluate an institution’s research integrity, human research ethics and other research governance arrangements, providing a report and recommendations to assist implement a best practice approach;
• design and conduct workshops that meet the needs of researchers from all disciplines by focussing on how research ethics and research integrity fit within the conception, design, conduct, analysis, reporting and peer review of quality research;
• provide annual training for HREC members;
• provide quality independent advisory support on an ad-hoc, contractual or retainer basis on research integrity and human research ethics matters;
• provide mentoring and professional development support for research office staff;
• assist with the establishment, training, ongoing collegiate communications and policy/procedural arrangements for institutional networks of Research Ethics Advisers and Research Integrity Advisers;
• contribute to the growth of the field through national and international collaboration, conference presentations, journal articles and books.
