Our story How did we start? Our MD Alan Jones is so passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to his work that if you spoke to him about flooring you’d conclude that it is what he always wanted to do. Actually, he never really thought of becoming his own boss, but the economic downturn in the 80’s, pushed him into setting up the company. So rising to life’s challenges, 27 years ago, based in the Midlands, in Derby, involving just a handful of people, we established a business where relationships with customers truly matter. We all live by this ethos, which means that most of our business is repeat or comes through recommendation. The company grew and we expanded into decorating headed up by Mark Hurst, essentially being able to offer a full refurbishment service. Today, we have a team of close to 50 people, including our office based staff. Most of our staff have been with us for more than 10 years, some even since the company was founded that reflects our culture rooted in family values. Our simple approach: Cost effective quality We are proud of what we do. All our flooring operatives, and most of our decorators are CITB Level II NVQ certified. The rest are currently working towards their qualifications. We are accredited by SMAS (Safety Management Advisory Services), belong to Constructionline, the Contract Flooring Association and all our fully employed tradesmen all hold CSCS cards. Our appreciation for different budgets and expert product knowledge ensures that our customers get maximum value. We often joke that having a Yorkshireman as our MD leaves no other option than to adopt a “most for your money” approach. The process is simple: we understand your project, measure your space, where possible look at the sub-flooring, advise you on products, provide a quote and deliver on time. Our work: From regular to quirky & specialist We have over 27 years of experience in a wide variety of contract flooring, and over 7 years in decorating including commercial, health and leisure and education but we love unique. One of the projects closest to our hearts is the seaside themed vinyl floors at the emergency department for children at Royal Derby Hospital. Laying the intricate patterns was a challenge we enjoyed, whilst ensuring that the standards of the Health Authority were met. We always work to offer the most suitable solutions and provide the best options which allowed us to build successful relationships with big clients who often have demanding requirements.
