The Commission is responsible for the Alberta Human Rights Act, which ensures that every Albertan is offered an equal opportunity to earn a living, find a place to live, and enjoy services customarily available to the public without discrimination.
The Commission’s core purpose is to foster equality and reduce discrimination in Alberta through public education, community initiatives, complaint resolution, and human rights tribunal hearings.
