Aldo Sohm

We provide cellar consulting to private clients, wholesale and retail Zalto glassware throughout the United States, sell the exclusive Aldo Sohm branded Laguiole wine key, collaborate with Kracher Winery (Austria) on the Sohm and Kracher wine collection, and occasionally do speaking appearances (primarily for corporate education or entertainment). Aldo Sohm Inc. continues to developed lines of business through Aldo's experiences in the industry. Aldo's formal sommelier education began in 1998, when a mentor invited him to witness the “Best Sommelier in the World” competition in Vienna. After finishing his Sommelier exam, the same group leader approached Aldo about competing. He won “Best Sommelier in Austria” in 2002 and defended the title until 2006, returning to compete after he moved to the US in 2004. Then, in 2007, after winning "Best Sommelier in America," he joined Le Bernardin as Chef Sommelier. The team opened Aldo Sohm Wine Bar in 2014. Encouraged by the experience of designing his wine key with Laguiole after taking home "Best Sommelier in the World 2008," Aldo pursued partnerships with Zalto and Kracher to continue learning about crafts that complemented his love for wine.
