ALITE - acronym of Applied LIghtwave TEchnologies - is an Italian company that develops cutting-edge solutions leveraging on the power of photonics. Despite being young, it inherits more than 50 years of cumulative experience of the founders, gained in the fields of photonics and environmental monitoring, both in academia in previously founded companies. To better serve its customers, Alite is organized into two divisions, with a common driving force of achieving technologically disruptive and sustainable solutions. The IDEA division focuses on custom industrial lasers and their applications, developing ad-hoc high-power laser sources and beam management solutions to be used in industrial processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, processing of textiles and food, packages, etc.), including the assessment of their life cycle impact. The I4SE division focuses on providing new sensing solutions by exploiting the full potential of photonics, especially of fiber optics. It integrates custom designs with advanced data processing and artificial intelligence approaches to develop state-of-the-art monitoring systems for civil, mechanical, environmental, and biomedical applications.
