ABOUT US
Amani Justice Initiative Uganda is non-hierarchical, rural and trans feminist youth-led organization in Budaka district, Eastern Uganda, committed to advancing intersectional justice across Gender, Climate, Social, Health, and Digital sectors. Inspired by the word Amani meaning Peace - we believe that true Peace is only possible when built on a foundation of Justice, Dignity, and Equality for all.
We center the leadership of women, girls, LGBTQ+ individuals, People with Disabilities and other marginalized groups to challenge systemic oppression and co-create bold, community-led solutions.
OUR FOCUS AREAS:
✨ Gender & Feminist Justice
We advocate for gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and the end of gender-based violence by strengthening feminist leadership and amplifying excluded voices.
✨ Climate & Environmental Justice
We advance climate action through a feminist lens, empowering youth and women to lead sustainable change and build resilient communities.
✨ Health Justice
We champion equitable access to health especially SRHR, HIV response, and mental health by bridging gaps in care through youth-friendly, inclusive services.
✨ Digital Justice & Innovation
We work to close the digital divide, promote online safety, and empower marginalized communities through feminist tech and digital literacy.
✨ Social & Economic Justice
We promote civic participation, legal empowerment, and economic inclusion to challenge poverty and systemic inequality at the grassroots level.
