America-Mideast Educational and Training Services, Inc., or AMIDEAST (www.amideast.org), is an American nonprofit organization founded in 1951. AMIDEAST’s mission focuses on the following five core principles: expanding educational opportunities; preparing individuals for jobs in the global economy; strengthening institutions and communities, building cross-cultural understanding, and empowering women and youth. With 12 country offices, including one in Jordan, and 60 years of experience in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, AMIDEAST has a strong track record in developing and implementing quality programs tailored to the needs of clients in Arab countries while adhering to these core principles. Since opening its doors in 1956, AMIDEAST’s country office in Amman has actively worked with the Jordanian government, the private sector and international donors to improve the lives of the people of Jordan. AMIDEAST has earned its place as a major contributor to the advancement of Jordan’s education sector as more than 2500 students and professionals pass through AMIDEAST’s office each month to participate in the wide range of education programs offered through the local office,AMIDEAST provides various English language training programs that provide a range of individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to use English effectively in international and local communications. Our English for Special Purposes programs have grown in response to demand for topic-related courses. These programs provide individuals with the language skills necessary to compete in today’s global economy.
