Anchoring Communities Uganda

Anchoring Communities Uganda (ACU) is an organization that focuses on empowering communities with relevant information, skills and attitudes to enable them make choices for sustainable meaningful lives. Our emphasis is on Sexual Reproductive Health/ HIV & Livelihood programming. We stem inspiration from an ANCHOR which in the absence of a captain secures a vessel to the bed of a water body and prevents it from drifting due to wind or current. Individuals and communities are constantly faced by "storms" that consequently negatively impact their health, social, and economic well being. Empowering communities to identify solutions to these challenges forms the anchor.
