The iconic properties include: The Mercer in New York City, NY, Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, CA, Sunset Beach in Shelter Island, NY, and Chiltern Firehouse in London, UK. André Balazs, Chairman, founded the eponymous company in 1990. Each property shares an unwavering commitment to detail, pioneering design and carefully considered sense of place. Balazs also founded The Standard Hotels, which included properties in Hollywood, Downtown LA, Miami and New York City. Balazs left the board of The Standard in 2017, ending his association with the boutique chain.
