About Angel Shark Project

The Angel Shark Project is a multidisciplinary initiative that gathers ecological and population data while working closely with local communities, researchers, and governments to raise awareness and promote conservation actions. Currently, it involves 12 organizations across 7 countries: Spain, Wales, Libya, Greece, Corsica, Croatia, and Ireland. Founded in 2014, the Angel Shark Project: Canary Islands aims to ensure the protection and conservation of angel shark populations in the Canary Islands. This initiative is a collaboration between three European partners: the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change (LIB), the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), and the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).
