MPAs Canary Islands es una iniciativa dedicada a reforzar las Áreas Marinas Protegidas (AMP) del archipiélago y fomentar un modelo de gestión sostenible y replicable en el Atlántico Centro Oriental. Con el respaldo de Oceans 5, trabajamos para contribuir al objetivo global de proteger el 30% de los océanos para 2030, impulsando una red de AMP más conectada, eficaz y resiliente. Nuestra labor integra ciencia, conservación y colaboración con instituciones, expertos y comunidades, situando a Canarias como referente internacional en sostenibilidad marina. 📅 MPAs Connect | 22 y 23 de mayo Un encuentro internacional en Canarias que reunirá a expertos, responsables institucionales y actores clave para debatir el presente y futuro de las Áreas Marinas Protegidas. En un contexto de creciente presión sobre los ecosistemas marinos, este evento será un espacio para compartir estrategias replicables, crear alianzas y acelerar el cambio hacia una gestión marina responsable. ------------- MPAs Canary Islands is an initiative focused on strengthening the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) of the archipelago and promoting a sustainable, replicable management model across the Central Eastern Atlantic. Backed by Oceans 5, we work to contribute to the global goal of protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030, building a more connected, effective, and resilient MPA network. Our work combines science, conservation, and collaboration with institutions, experts, and communities — positioning the Canary Islands as an international benchmark in marine sustainability. 📅 MPAs Connect | May 22–23 An international gathering in the Canary Islands bringing together experts, institutional leaders, and key stakeholders to discuss the present and future of Marine Protected Areas.
