Annie's Kindness Blankets

Annie's Kindness Blankets is a hug-it-forward kindness campaign founded by the Varney sisters after the loss of their mom to suicide. Today, the AKB team has grown to eight passionate women and hundreds of volunteers committed to #beingthevoice and ending the stigma around depression and suicide. At Annie’s Kindness Blankets, our mission is to offer warmth, comfort, and hope to those experiencing grief, hardship, or emotional struggle. Inspired by the life and memory of Annie, we create and deliver handmade blankets—what we call everlasting hugs—as tangible reminders that no one is alone. Through acts of kindness, community connection, and open conversations about mental health, we aim to break the stigma, spread love, and foster healing—one blanket at a time.
