Anthrox Studio

Anthrox Studio LLC was established in 2019 by Anthony Macbain and Roxie Vizcarra, both veterans of the video game industry who have worked on some of the biggest selling game franchises in the world. Based in Brooklyn, NY, Anthrox specializes in visual development, marketing illustration, and creative direction. Macbain and Vizcarra began their careers as staff artists at Rockstar Games where they rose to become Director of Illustration and Lead Senior Artist respectively. Their work was used to market the biggest selling pieces of entertainment media in history, having developed the iconic illustration styles for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, among many other titles. Their concept designs defined the look of lead player characters from GTA V to Max Payne 3. Macbain and Vizcarra also art directed numerous in-game cartoon animations, creating character and background concepts, and managed a team of animators to bring those designs to life. Since striking out on their own with Anthrox Studio, their work continues to shape the Entertainment industry, creating illustrations for AAA games such as Apex Legends and animated music videos for the music industry’s rising new stars. Most recently the key art illustration they created for the release of the Horizon Forbidden West video game was selected for a Cleo award for Excellence in Advertising under the category of Digital Key Art.
