Toumazis & Associates inspired from the results of the EU FP7 program SMARTeST, Smart Resilience Technology Systems and Tools for Flood Protection. It is a project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of Innovative Enterprises of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus. Aquafragma aspires to raise the standards in the domain of flood protecting barriers by offering cutting edge engineering and technological solutions. Our product ensures that its function depends only on the hydraulic forces provided by the streaming water during a flood. The floodgate barrier is self-raised in an upright position thanks to the buoyancy action of water, hence eliminating the need for human intervention or power.
