‘Arcola Theatre brings the very best of the worlds performing and visual arts to the people of the world living and working in London’ The Guardian Founded in 2000 by Artistic Director Mehmet Ergen and Executive Producer Leyla Nazli, Arcola Theatre is now one of the most respected arts venues in the UK - blazing a trail in artistic excellence and innovative management since day-one. Housed in a stunning converted factory in Hackney, Arcola is a favourite of established theatre literati as well as young, upwardly mobile innovators. Arcola has become well known for the variety of its programming– from new writing to classic drama, music and comedy. In our two theatre spaces, Arcola presents major artists alongside cutting-edge work from some of the most exciting emerging companies. Arcola aims to be the world’s first carbon-neutral theatre. Our pioneering environmental initiatives, developed in partnership with Arcola Energy, are internationally renowned. We’ve fitted solar panels, DC power grids and now carbon-neutral heating to make our building more sustainable. Arcola has two full-time programmed theatre spaces, 2 rehearsal rooms and an eco-café/bar, all of which can be rented out for a huge variety of opportunities including for film showings, private events, as a film location, conference centre and rehearsal space. Please see hires/tech for more information.
