The Rapid Equipping Force (REF) provides innovative materiel solutions to meet the urgent requirements of U.S. Army Forces employed globally and informs materiel development for the future force. Since 2002, the REF has been the Army’s quick-reaction organization for delivering urgent materiel solutions to the hands of Warfi ghters often within 180 days.
The REF focuses on supporting U.S. active duty, Reserve, and National Guard units and Soldiers preparing to deploy. The REF provides materiel solutions across the Army’s warfighting functions and priority equipping efforts for current challenges such as: subterranean operations, electronic warfare, unmanned and counter-unmanned aerial systems, air and ground robotics, and virtual training.
