Despite making up nearly half of the population, women in India have long faced significant barriers to financial inclusion within society. We’re here to change that.
ArthaSakhi is a student-led organization that exists to support financial empowerment for women living underprivileged areas through financial literacy programs, providing the right tools, connections, and income generation opportunities.
Today, in most low income households women are excluded from financial conversations. This not only creates an inequality in household decision-making authority but also leads to poorer financial decisions being made that affect every member.
We are driven to create a change from a home to societies because financial inclusion starts at home.
We focus on conducting custom financial literacy programs, collaborating with NGOs and providing income generation opportunities in order for women from low income households to actively participate in local economies.
We envision a society where every woman has the knowledge and authority to take wise financial decisions and is financially included in society. At the end of the day, inclusion is not optional but essential for growth. We’re working to make sure that every woman has an equal voice when decisions relating to finance are being made at their homes.
