Artists on Expedition

Artists on Expedition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2022 by artists, expedition leaders, Indigenous people, conservationists, educators, and policy specialists. We address the urgent, existential threats of extreme climate change and ecological degradation through the power of the arts. We organize and lead expedition teams of artists, scientists, Indigenous people, and stakeholders to the frontlines of a planet in peril; our highly productive, precious natural ecosystems, our Epic Ecosystems. Our mission is to create Impact Art directly from the expedition experience. This art is a powerful instrument to stimulate innovation, promote ideologies, ignite global dialogue, enhance ecological consciousness, and inspire transformation. Our vision is to inspire a global movement through a transdisciplinary creative network that instigates social change, climate action, protection, and preservation of our planet's precious ecosystems for generations to come. We are convinced that art effectively communicates the scientific realities and systemic challenges of extreme climate change and ecological degradation while affectively engaging individuals and communities on an emotional and empathetic level. Through visual storytelling, emotional resonance, and cultural narratives, art inspires awareness, action, and transformative changes towards a sustainable future. This is Artists on Expedition.
