We trace our roots back to Berlin, Germany in 2013. After a decade of schism, the Asian debaters from clubs representing Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and more formed the Asia in Berlin Community: a network for young Asians who believed in the power of British Parliamentary debating to change society for the better.
Nine years later and Asia Debating is now one of the largest online networks of debaters in the world, spanning more than 12000 registered members - all past or present debaters.
This makes every Asian debating competition hosted in the different Asian countries connect to Asia Debating in one or more ways. Debaters firmly rooted in their Asian Home reaching out to the rest of the world, where they may find themselves in college, in their professional lives, and further.
We share with our debaters a journey that we took ourselves, with the support and resources of parents not unlike theirs, in the promise that what formed who we are may inspire them too.
