About ASPA Section on Democracy and Social Justice (SDSJ)
PROMOTING CONSTRUCTIVE, JUST AND DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH TEACHING, RESEARCH, PRACTICE, CONFERENCES, AND PUBLICATIONS. The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) recognizes and encourages the development of specialized areas of interest within its membership as important to the advancement of its mission and core values. The Section is the exclusive owner of the Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration (JSEPA), a peer-reviewed, open access journal that examines issues of social equity in public administration, public policy and governance. The Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration (JSEPA) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal sponsored by the Section on Democracy and Social Justice of the American Society for Public Administration and generously supported by three universities: University of Minnesota, Virginia Commonwealth University, and University of Nebraska Omaha. Published for a global audience, JSEPA seeks to be the leading voice on social equity as it pertains to the pursuit of public purposes. Publishing two issues per year, it is the outlet for cutting edge theory, research, and commentary on matters of access, process, quality, and outcomes of administrative actions, policy decisions, and administrative law. It is also a voice for reconciliation, restoration, and remediation strategies.
