MISSION
To prevent vascular access patient harm using a total systems approach through patient safety initiatives, multidisciplinary alliances, research, and clinician education.
CORE BELIEFS
We believe that each patient who receives a vascular access device has the right to:
-be a part of the decision-making process of their care
-receive the appropriate device based upon the indicated therapy
-be safe from harm related to the insertion, use, and removal of the device in any healthcare setting
-have the provision of vascular access care managed by vascular access specialists utilizing evidence-based practice and advanced technology applications be assessed for outcomes to advance the science of vascular access patient safety
