About Aston Alt Protein Project
We are the Aston Alt Protein Project (formerly AgriCell), a student-led initiative at Aston University committed to driving innovation and collaboration in the alternative protein space. Our mission is to inspire and empower students, researchers and industry professionals to address critical global challenges such as food security, climate change, public health and animal welfare by advocating for a more sustainable and ethical food system. 🌱 What Are Alt Proteins? 🌱 Alt proteins are innovative food sources that emulate the taste, texture and nutritional value of conventional animal products but without the negative consequences of animal agriculture. These diverse protein sources can be obtained from plants, cultivated animal cells or fermentation. 🤝 Why Partner with Us? 🤝 Aston Alt Protein Project bridges the gap between academia and industry. We offer unique opportunities for collaboration, from research projects and talent development to site visits and industry networking events. Our goal is to establish Aston University as a leading hub for alternative protein education and innovation. Connect with us to learn what we get up to and explore how we can collaborate to advance the alt protein industry!
