ATM-EXCITE

The ATM-EXCITE project is focused on addressing the key requirements for civil-military aviation coordination and cybersecurity within Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. By closely engaging with stakeholders throughout the development process, we ensure that the solutions meet their needs and are practical for real-world application. Our team will design, develop, and test these solutions using innovative approaches such as system design, software development, and cybersecurity testing. The system architectures will incorporate ATM requirements, cybersecurity best practices, and operational constraints. Aligned with the priorities of the SESAR ER call, ATM-EXCITE aims to enhance the security, confidentiality, and anonymization of military aviation data, while tackling vulnerabilities in real-time airborne position data. Our solutions will include methods for verifying ADS-B data, selective encryption, and efficient interaction between civil and military systems. These efforts support the goals of the European ATM Master Plan, promoting the harmonization of civil and military aviation across European skies. Our research will focus on improving the security of military operations and advancing digitalization for Airspace Management (ASM) and Mission Trajectory Management (MTM). In the second phase, ATM-EXCITE will explore synergies among our proposed solutions to develop integrated systems that offer maximum impact.
