Our Vision: Extreme ecosystems like Spain’s acidic Rio Tinto and the Antarctic’s psychrophilic regions hold immense promise for discovering: - Antimicrobials and antioxidants for pharmaceuticals. - Extracellular polymeric substances for cosmetics. - Plastic-degrading enzymes for recycling. Project Highlights: - Duration: 4 years (2024–2028). - Consortium: 13 European partners. - Budget: €5 million. Our Objectives: - Uncover bioactive compounds for key industries. - Develop innovative, sustainable sampling methods. - Ensure compliance with global frameworks like the Nagoya Protocol. - Promote collaboration through clustering activities with related projects.
