Retro roots. Modern mojo. Founded on August 6, 2015 by Jools Watsham, Atooi is a passionate team located in Austin, Texas focused on the development of retro inspired games that capture the essence of the past and unite it with the magic of tomorrow.

Pronounced Ah-too-ee, the name Atooi comes from Watsham's love of Hawai'i. British explorer and cartographer, James Cook, visited the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i in 1778, documenting the locals' name of the island as "Atooi".
Jools has been developing games professionally since 1992 with studios including Storm, Iguana Entertainment, Acclaim, and KingsIsle, having also co-founded Renegade Kid, contributing to the development of 50 titles with highlights that include the Mutant Mudds series, Xeodrifter, the Dementium series, NBA Jam, and Turok 2.
