The Australian Centre for Genomic Epidemiological Microbiology (Ausgem) is a collaborative partnership between the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries and the University of Technology Sydney with the aim of strengthening the State’s capacity to identify and respond to biosecurity threats. Ausgem research focuses on current and emerging pests and infectious and parasitic diseases of animals and plants as well as on the problem of antimicrobial resistance – also a high priority global issue.
