Lara Schaeffer, an autistic life-long educator, is the creator and developer of Uncovering Autism, an online course designed for for everyone aged 12 through adult, including:

✔️ non-autistic people, to learn to be better allies
✔️ autistic people to gain language to help others understand them and their autism better

Lara also innovated guided self-assessment to screen for autism in adults, allowing many who are autistic but previously unidentified to gain crucial understanding about their neurotype, how they experience and react to the world, and how they interact with others. Working with her, they can explore their relationship to autism in a thorough but efficient and economical way relative to official evaluation and assessment.

Autistic Insights (volumes I and II; twenty posts each) is Lara's post series focusing on single elements of the autistic experience at a time, to inform and educate non-autistics and to affirm and support autistic people.
In addition to bringing forth these advancements to the autism arena, Lara mentors late-identified autistic individuals from adolescence to all ages of adulthood.
As well, she works with companies, employers, friends, and family members of autistic individuals and provides information about autism to all types of groups and constituencies. Lara is an active and enthusiastic public speaker.
Lara deeply felt the real need for change regarding late-identified autism after her and her daughter's autism were discovered when the two were 47 and 15 years old, respectively.
