La société AVENA BIO regroupe, dans une logique de filière bio française et équitable, les acteurs de l’amont (COCEBI, PROBIOLOR et BIOCER) coopératives pionnières du bio et les acteurs de l’aval (FAVRICHON, CERECO et BIOCOOP) transformateurs et distributeurs entièrement dédiés à l’agriculture biologique.
Le projet est une usine qui fabriquera des flocons et de la farine d'avoine destinés au grand public via les filières de distribution ou aux industries agroalimentaires. La création de cette usine s’inscrit dans une logique de relocalisation de la filière de transformation de l’avoine blanche biologique française. En effet, la production et 1ère transformation (phase de décorticage) sont réalisés par les coopératives de ce projet. La dernière transformation et la distribution sont eux aussi réalisées par les acteurs de l’aval du projet.
