Balboa Catering is a family-owned business that offers a finer take on catered food -- one forged through Chef Alex Garfinkel's years of experience at iconic restaurants around the world. In Philadelphia Alex has made his bones at Le Bec Fin, Lacroix, Amada, Morimoto, Fork & Striped Bass. Abroad he spent time studying under world renowned chef, Andoni Luis Aduriz at famed Mugaritz, in Spain. While there he also spent time at 3 Michelin starred restaurant, Martin Berasategui. Alex Started Balboa with the belief that Catered food both could and should be better than what is currently accepted as the industry standard. He made his business a "Food First" company that focused on quality product, local sourcing, creating a positive work environment for its employees and sustainable kitchen practices. These are the values that flow through balboa and her culinary experiences that are created by our team.
