Founded in 2008, the Baltic Writing Residency nurtures the literary arts by offering talented individuals both a comfortable and rich cultural environment in which to immerse themselves, and a substantial amount of time in which to begin or further significant projects. We now have residencies in Sweden, Scotland, Blackacre Nature Preserve (KY), as well as a residency for underrepresented writers that is located in Asheville, NC. We also offer an annual fellowship to a Kentucky-related writer and hold a chapbook competition. In August 2018, we will begin publishing a national magazine of culture, literature and the arts, called Action, Spectacle.
