We are a 501c3 nonprofit that addresses barriers to maternal and infant healthcare in South Asia through the “Barakat Bundle.” Each bundle includes critical care items and educational resources to help provide life-saving support to South Asian mothers and newborns. We work directly with local communities–parents, health workers, doctors, and leaders–to understand how to increase impact. Our approach is human-centered, evidence-based, and integrated with existing health systems.
Barakat Bundle is a non-profit that works to reduce preventable infant and maternal mortality in South Asia. Inspired by the Finnish Baby Box, Barakat Bundle is a curated package of 1) evidence-based medical items and demand-driving care items, 2) our custom pictorial health education calendar, and 3) our safe-sleep Giving Cradle, all bundled together to support mothers and newborns during the first year of life. Receipt of the bundle is conditional on mothers giving birth in a health facility to ensure they have access to care on the most dangerous day for mother and baby.
